Yasiel Puig Named ‘MLB The Show 15’ Cover Athlete
Yasiel Puig’s first full season with the Los Angeles Dodgers came with growing pains, highlights, his first All-Star appearance and ultimately a frustrating finish as he was on the bench for Game 4 of the National League Division Series.
While the season didn’t end on a high note for Puig and the Dodgers, he went on to play in the Japan All-Star Series and now has been named the cover athlete for Sony Playstation’s ‘MLB The Show 15’:

Puig becomes the first Dodger to appear on the game cover, though Adrian Gonzalez did in 2012 when he was with the Boston Red Sox. Andrew McCutchen and Dustin Pedroia are among those who have also appeared on the cover with Miguel Cabrera the latest athlete to receive the honor (MLB The Show 14).
Since signing as a free agent with the Dodgers, Puig’s been on a rapid rise to stardom. His fame has come with opportunities such as this, as well as a visit to the White House, but also heavy criticism.
Puig began the season in right field for the Dodgers and showed improvement with his plate discipline that played into a 16-game hitting streak. He was eventually moved to center field, which was key in the Dodgers’ settling on an outfield alignment with Matt Kemp in right and Carl Crawford in left.
MLB The Show 15 will exclusively be available on Playstation consoles and there isn’t word if it will include an umpire showing Puig how to do a proper bat flip.
Buster Posey was on it in 2012.
