Yasiel Puig Robs Jorge Soler With Diving Catch (VIDEO)

[new_royalslider id=”326″] The Los Angeles Dodgers were in position to win their third consecutive game Saturday as Adrian Gonzalez had powered the team to a lead.

The Dodgers held a 6-2 lead in the fifth inning with Gonzalez responsible for driving in five of the Dodgers’ six runs. Roberto Hernandez had mixed results while his offense worked to provide him with a lead.

Hernandez allowed a leadoff double and walked Javier Baez, which spelled the end of his day. In came Paco Roddriguez, who struck out Anthony Rizzo. Jorge Soler then came up to bat and worked a 2-2 count before hitting a line drive to left-center.

Yasiel Puig went into a dead sprint and made an improbable diving catch rob Soler of a probable extra-base hit and two RBIs. Puig immediately came to his feet and threw to second base to double off Chris Coghlan.

Puig’s catch was reminiscent of the one he made against the New York Mets, however that came when he was still in right field. The play at the time preserved the Dodgers’ lead, but the rest of the bullpen was unable to do the same.
