Continuing on the championship level of excellence set in 1988 with the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers Team, Fred Claire has created one of the most impactful charity golf tournaments in Southern California. Originally started in 2017, this year’s tournament brought over 30 former MLB players together to support cancer research at the City of Hope, including representatives from all five Los Angeles Dodger World Championship teams!

Hoping to build upon the $400,000 already raised for the City of Hope’s Head and Neck Cancer departments, this year’s tournament honored Tommy Lasorda with the Celebration of Life Award and Dodgers legend, Orel Hershiser and Mickey Hatcher joined Drew Drysdale and Cheri Zahn with the first tee shots at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Ca.

Our friends at West Coast Multimedia were there to help cover the event. WCM is one of the leading video production companies in Southern California and the City of Hope and Fred Claire were grateful for their help.

Dodgers Nation was honored to be asked to help cover the event to help spread the word on the amazing research and progress that is being made at the City of Hope and our hosts from Blue Heaven were able to grab an interview to help better explain the alternatives to chemotherapy for cancer treatment today.

If you or someone you know has been affiliated with cancer, you know how much suffering one has to endure. In order for the City of Hope to thrive with innovative research, they will need the help of caring people such as yourself with donations and participation in their local events.
