Dodgers 2020 Schedule: See When LA Plays in a Shortened Pandemic Season

Dodgers fans have waited patiently, and we finally have a season schedule. The league announced each club’s schedule for the 60-game season that includes 40 games within a team’s division.

For the Dodgers, they get to kick their season off against a historic rival. The San Francisco Giants will be coming to town on July 23rd, as expected. That will be Opening Day for baseball as the Dodgers and Giants will be one of two ESPN televised games. The Yankees and Nationals will be the first game of the season, scheduled ahead of the Dodgers and Giants.

Division Games

The Giants are obviously the first matchup for Los Angeles, kicking things off with a four-game set. The Dodgers will see San Francisco at least six more games down the line. They will face off against each NL West team ten times apiece in total over three different series.

The home and road splits will obviously be split unevenly, given that they have to see each NL West team in an odd number of series. Jackie Robinson Day will be held on August 28th.

Interleague Games

Interleague games are being held to specific geographic locations, so the Dodgers will play the AL West in 20 games this year. Among the teams that Los Angeles will be facing off are the Angels, who play just down The 5 Freeway. Those two teams will match up six times this year, so be ready for a lot of trash-talking with the revamped Halos’ offense.

The Dodgers will also face off against the Astros this year, making for an intriguing rematch of the 2017 World Series. Houston will make a trip back to LA September 12th through 14th. This will be the first time the two teams face each other since it was revealed that Houston cheated during that World Series. The Dodgers will also travel to Houston in the first week of games for a two-game series.

Overall Outlook

You never really know what is going to happen in any given season, but that is especially true in a shortened season. With that being said, it’s really difficult to imagine the Dodgers missing the playoffs with these NL West matchups. We’re ready for a season of Cody Bellinger and Mookie Betts making things a whole lot of fun.

More From the Official Press Release

With the exception of several exclusive national broadcasts, Dodger games (exhibition and regular season) will be televised on Spectrum SportsNet LA. SportsNet LA, the Dodgers 24/7 regional sports network, is now available to AT&T TV, DIRECTV, U-verse TV and AT&T TV Now customers as well as Spectrum customers in Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii. All games, including the three exhibition games, will be broadcast on radio on AM 570 LA Sports (English) and KTNQ 1020 AM (Spanish).

Based on the health circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic along with governmental directives prohibiting large gatherings, Dodger Stadium will be unable to host fans at the start of the season. At this time, the Dodgers are providing ticketholders with an account credit for 2020 tickets, parking and All-Star Week events, which along with a 10% bonus credit can be applied towards tickets and prepaid parking through the 2021 season. More information will be sent to ticketholders shortly, including instructions on how to request a refund. The organization remains optimistic, and should circumstances change to allow fans at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers will announce a ticketing policy at that time.

  1. I am ready for baseball. That’s what our country needs. Even a short season is better than none.

    1. Frisco will do it’s usual early season owning of us, then Houston will find a way to beat us fair and square which will be rather embarrassing after all the cheating talk, the angels will destroy us right at the worst time, the last series of the season. In a 60 game season this will be crucial. The Dodgers better take care of business in the other games
