Dodgers Activate Tony Gonsolin and Recall Andre Jackson

The Dodgers are making a few moves right before their series finale against the Cardinals. Looking to take 3 of 4 and win the series, Dave Roberts and his team made a move for 2 arms to come back, including a starting pitcher.

Originally, the Dodgers were going to throw Julio Urias on normal rest today against the Cards. But they pivoted and will instead start Tony Gonsolin. Gonsolin was just activated off of the injured list today and has not pitched a game since the last week of July.

The Dodgers will have Gonsolin as the bulk man for today’s game, though he is not expected to go more than 3 innings. He threw in just 1 rehab game this week before the team decided to activate him for the series.

They are also making a move to call up Andre Jackson. Roberts said that there was not an exact plan for him, but the Dodgers piggybacking him on Gonsolin’s start would certainly make sense. The bullpen has seen heavy usage most of the year, and this week has been no exception.

The Dodgers optioned Mitch White and designated Neftali Feliz for assignment to make room for both guys on the active roster. This is the second time this season that Feliz has received the DFA for Los Angeles.

  1. Gonsolin pitching in place of Urias? Sometimes I think Roberts does not want to win. Gonsolin will probably last 4 Innings.

    1. Dodgers whether like it or not can look in their mirrors to see why they are going to be one done in that WildCard game Roberts, Bellinger, the lousy bench and inept offense are all the reasons they will see. Get ready for another BP game and Dodgers will pay the price for this too.

  2. No chance today with this pathetic lineup. Figure at least 12 automatic outs today. Just don’t understand Roberts. A game we desperately need and this nucklehead puts this lineup out. Rediculous!

    1. Only chance to score came early &
‘we’re stuck’ with Bellinger in a ‘bases
loaded’ spot (not the 1st time) & he fails
again. Same MO every game- swing for
the fences only & what made that approach
‘more pathetic’ today & he swung at the first pitch
countless times resulting in those ‘weak popups’ to
the left side of the infield.

As others have stated here today- just seems as tho
Roberts doesn’t ‘see the urge’ to win now! I can see
(benefit of the doubt here) restin’ a key player ‘every’
day but today’s lineup was ‘absolutely pathetic!’ Will
we ‘ever’ see ‘a series of games’ before season’s end
where our ‘so-called’ vaunted lineup takes the field as
together as they can be? No continuality with lineup on
a daily basis & no one clearly knows where they’ll bat in
each lineup Roberts put out there!

Just ‘thoroughly’ disgusted at this point!

& BTW- what happened to Bellinger batting (???) before the pitcher?

  3. Beli abd Sousa are 0 fer 6 with 4 SOs so far in the 5th and 6th spots. Half of the lineup is at or under 200 avg. Roberts does this after everyday game after a night game. What a sorry excuse for a manager.

  4. Blake Snell in the wild card game and see ya in the spring. If that indeed happens and Roberts is not canned, I give up!
