Dodgers Add 4 More Players to the 40-Man Roster

The Dodgers’ offseason moves have officially started. it’s not the trade or free-agent signing we were hoping for, but it will protect some young talent coming up through the organization.

The Dodgers announced that they were adding 4 players to their 40-man roster. The moves were mostly to protect young players from entering the rule-5 draft which opens them up to being taken away by other teams

The Dodgers will add pitchers Edwin Uceta, Gerardo Carillo, and Andre Jackson to the roster. They will also add utility infielder Zach Reks to the 40-man as well. Uceta, Carillo, and Jackon all rank in the top 30 in the organization’s farm system. Carillo comes in at number 16 while Uceta ranked 22nd and Jackson at 28.

The move does not necessarily mean that the 4 guys will be a part of the team’s plans for the 2021 season. It does however mean that all 4 will likely be invited to participate in the Dodgers Spring Training camp at the big league level.
