Dodgers: After His Huge Night, Mookie Betts Only Wants to Praise His Teammates

Mookie Betts was once again the in middle of a big win for the Dodgers, much like he has been all season. Los Angeles managed to finish the sweep of the Brewers on Thursday night to advance to the Division Series, thanks in part to contributions from Betts.

But in his postgame press conference following the win, Mookie was as humble as ever. Betts even made sure to mention his Dodgers teammates first and to give them credit for the win.

Before I get to that I gotta give credit, I know CT got a big hit right there and then Belli got a hit, AJ hustled down the line and forced a little bobble there. Barnsey came through clutch with a big knock there to make it a little easier on me. I was just looking for a good pitch to drive, fell behind 2-0 so I knew he had to come to me.

Mookie went on to praise the efforts of Clayton Kershaw as well. The Dodgers ace tossed 8 shutout innings and struck out 13 en route to the Dodgers win. It was truly a masterpiece by one of the games all-time best.

Also got to give a shoutout to Kersh for doing what he did tonight, that was pretty spectacular for sure…They never could build anything off of him, I think they got 3 hits and he only walked 1 guy, and they ever could get started. So he gave us all of the opportunites in the world to capitalize and you can’t ask for anymore than what he did today.

It’s the little things about Mookie Betts that make you love him. The fact that he comes into a press conference after a huge hit and praises his teammates speaks volumes about the kind of person that he is. The Dodgers have truly found their guy, and we get to see him play in Los Angeles for a very long time.

  1. Boy, those Rex Sox were sure smart to get rid of a loser like Mookie. When you pay these guys a bunch of money, they sure get lazy and selfish.

  2. If you just look at numbers there’s always several guys who could be MVP. If you add in all the things that the numbers don’t show, like a winning attitude, and real team perspective, Betts is the MVP.

  3. Mookie Betts is a true leader for this Dodger team. Mookie is willing to help any player out and he just makes everyone else that much better with him in the dugout. He is such a huge asset for the Dodgers. I think the Dodgers were smart to pay Mookie the money he wanted. Now we have him for many many years to come.
He is exciting to watch as he with any at bat is a danger for other teams.

  4. He’s not the guy but one of the guys,Seager had better numbers Don’t forget that.
