Dodgers: Andrew Friedman Shares Thoughts on Gavin Lux

Dodgers top prospect Gavin Lux has impressed in 2019, and that may be an understatement.

He has a batting average of .452 and OPS of 1.372 in 30 games since joining OKC. He’s also chipped in 9 home runs, 29 RBI, and 40 runs scored during that time.

President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman recently gave his thoughts on the organization’s top prospect.

He is a really good young player, he’s got a very advanced feel for what he’s doing. The maturity in the batter’s box, is really special for somebody his age. He is a guy that we will feel very confident that Dodger fans are going to fall in love with and he’s going to be a big contributor going forward.

Obviously he just got moved up to Triple-A, and it hasn’t even been a speed bump for him. But from our standpoint with young players, if there is an opportunity to play everyday, and its what’s right for their development, we make those moves. And when it’s not, then we wait a little bit. But this is a guy that I feel like will really impact us next year, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of it being this year, but feel very confident about next year.

Andrew Friedman saying that they wouldn’t rule out the possibility of Lux making an impact this year, could mean Lux has a chance of being called up to the Major League in September. Gavin Lux is a special talent, and could be big time in the Major League. Friedman has high praise for Lux, and hopefully we get to see Lux in some Major League games with the Dodgers, next month.

  1. Considering that we already have Seager, where will he play when he gets to the big leagues? And is there any chance he plays this year and gets on the playoff roster?
