Dodgers Announce Bobblehead For A Surprising Player

The Dodgers are always very good with their bobblehead giveaways. It seems like every season, they incentivize fans to go out to mid-week games by doing those giveaways. And it works every single time. Fans flock out and fill out the stadium for quite literally any bobble that they can get their hands on.

This year, there are so many that Dodgers fans are excited to get. But they also had 3 different nights dedicated to bobblehead giveaways without announcing which players they would be. They changed that today by announcing 2 brand new ones.

Not only will Freddie Freeman get his first with the Dodgers, but Austin Barnes will too. After 8 seasons and a World Series win with the team, Barnes finally gets his own to take home with him. It’s not often that a backup catcher gets one, but Barnes is very different.

For starters, Dave Roberts will almost never call him a backup catcher. But Barnes was also the guy behind the plate when Julio Urias stuck out Willy Adames to end the Dodgers’ long World Series drought. It’s iconic.

The Dodgers have yet to announce a design for Barnes, but his hands in the air following the win would be an easy choice. Barnes’ bobble giveaway is set for Saturday, September 24th. That game will be against the Cardinals.
