Dodgers: Austin Barnes Feels There’s No Shortage of Confidence with Walker Buehler

Walker Buehler has a tendency to step up in big situations for the Dodgers and come through. He did it in game 163 during the 2018 season, and again in the 2018 World Series. Time and time again, Buehler rises to the occasion.

This year, it’s been a roller coaster for the young Dodgers’ flamethrower. He got a slow start to the season and then had to deal with a  blister issue that limited him to just 8 starts. But in his final start of the year, Walker looked incredible. Austin Barnes talked to media today about what makes the team so confident in Buehler during game 1 of the Wild Card Series, and it has us pumped.

He’s confident in himself. He doesn’t shy away fro the moment. I don’t think it gets too big for him. And when you can do that in these situations and you can make it like any other game I think you’re in the driver’s seat, especially with how good his stuff is.  So, I’m excited to see Walker pitch, he’s always thrown well in these kind of games and we love having him out there.

If there is a guy that excuses confidence on the mound, it’s certainly Walker Buehler. And with the stuff that he has in his pitch arsenal, he has every reason to be confident. The Dodgers ‘co-ace’ can be electric when he’s on, and the fans are certainly hoping that he brings his best stuff tonight.
