Dodgers: Cody Bellinger Gets Big Props from Lil Wayne for His Walk-up song

One of the best parts of being at Dodger Stadium to watch your favorite baseball team is getting to listen to each player’s walk-up song blare on the PA system. Or, depending on your preference in music, the worse part. Cody Bellinger has been known to bounce around genre-wise with his walk-up tune. A past fan favorite was “Hotel California” by the Eagles.

This year, Bellinger has been making his way to home plate with Lil’ Wayne’s “Hustler Musik”. The track was originally released on Lil’ Wayne’s album The Carter II. The global rap icon took notice and tweeted Cody an appreciative text for using one of his songs.

Belli responded and event went as far to give Lil’ Wayne “GOAT” status.

Rap and classic rock apparently aren’t the only genres that Bellinger enjoys to listen to. At the Blue Diamond Gala, Cody, along with Mookie Betts, was the only current Dodgers player who could complete a famous Jennifer Lopez song lyric.

The 2019 NL MVP has struggled a bit once the music stops and the pitcher starts pitching. He did have an impressive solo home run on Friday night against Cleveland, but on the season, Bellinger has .211/.279/.404 before first pitch on Saturday.

Perhaps DJ Severe, the in stadium DJ, can blare “Hustler Musik” a little louder to get Bellinger a little more hype dup.
