Dodgers: Cody Bellinger Gets the Locker Next to Albert Pujols

The Dodgers could not be happier to be getting Cody Bellinger back in the lineup. They’ve managed to keep things moving forward with him and Zach McKinstry on the injured list, but they’re obviously better off with both of them.

Cody has been gone from the team so long that there are some new faces he had to meet when getting to Los Angeles. The Dodgers obviously went out and got Yoshi Tsutsugo and Albert Pujols while he was away, so it was quite the welcoming.

An added benefit for Bellinger is that he also gets a locker right next to Albert. The Dodgers outfielder talked about that and how excited he was to have him here in his first press conference back from the injured list on Saturday.

Yeah, it’s amazing, man. I’ve heard nothing but unbelievable things. And, you know, obviously, I knew it playing against him, but now he’s part of the team, and I’m lucky enough to be locker mates next to him. So I know I’m going to take full advantage of being next to a future Hall of Famer and try to learn from him as much as I can.

Dodgers players and coaches have talked multiple times about the impact of having Albert in the clubhouse. The veteran first baseman can be seen all over the dugout during the game. talking with established veterans and guys brand new to the big leagues.
