Dodgers’ Dave Roberts And Clayton Kershaw On Win And The Postseason

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a record of 103-58 after Saturday’s 5-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies. The victory guarantees the Dodgers the best record in baseball for the first time in 43 years! It is also sets a record for the most wins since moving to Los Angeles! The offense did it’s job with Yasiel Puig leading the way and, besides a tough 3rd inning for Clayton Kershaw, pitching was solid across the board.

Clayton Kershaw spoke with the media after the game. Here are some of the highlights:

They did what they were supposed to do with the mistakes… It’s a good team obviously… I felt good. I thought my stuff was okay… No sense thinking about it now because I got to get ready for Friday.

I’m as ready as I can be. I feel 100 percent. I feel ready to go.

I’m sure every year I feel like we’re going to win the World Series and this year is no different.

Dave Roberts also caught up with the media and spoke on having the best record in baseball. This is what he had to say, courtesy of Bill Plunkett of the Orange Country Register:

The Dodgers suffered a horrendous slump in September, losing 10 games in a row and 20 out of 25 games. This is also the same team that was destroying the opposition and went on a stretch of 43 wins and just 7 losses in the middle of the season. Everybody always says that baseball is a marathon and, boy, has this marathon been bumpy.

But regardless of the past, both positive and negative, Los Angeles has secured home field advantage through the World Series and need just 11 wins to take home the championship.

  1. Kershaw pitching was solid accross the board except the 3rd inning? Really? What board were you watching? A ,little love is fine but get real!

    1. By Kershaw’s standards, it was horrendous. Also, the Dodgets “only” need 11 wins? Easier said than done.

  2. Love their chances this post season. They need to show the heart that has been missing the past four!

  3. Post season won’t be easy. Both D’backs and Rockies have winning records vs Dodgers this year. Here’s hoping for World Series win!

  4. It’s not going to be easy, they have to go thru some tough teams to win it all but that’s the way it should be. If any team can do it this team has the talent to go all the way. They have a lot more talent than the one that won in 88.

Oakland was suppose to kill them then but they played small ball to get it done.

  5. I have a feeling Kershaw is going to choke like he always does in the post season. He will probably give a home run or two before the 4th inning.
I’ve watched him over the last 4 years and he always chokes.
Hope I’m wrong this year. Whatever happens I won’t be surprised.

  6. They have the best record in all of baseball. They are relatively healthy.
Kersh probably just won his 4th Cy Young. The ‘pen is pitching well, and the bats have been coming alive. And yet NONE of the so-called experts I have read pick the Dodgers to even GET to the WS, much less win it. Prove them wrong, Dodgers! Stand up and take what’s yours. Bring a championship to L.A.
