Dodgers: David Price Scratched Late From Freeway Series Start

The Dodgers and Angels are set to kick off the Freeway Series tonight in Anaheim. David Price was supposed to be getting the ball against the Angels’ Andrew Heaney, but that is no longer the case, according to Dave Roberts.

Doc confirmed on Sunday evening that David Price was being scratched from the lineup. Doc told the OC Register’s JP Hoornstra that Price was being scratched due to injury, not due to illness. The Dodgers will go with Tony Gonsolin to start the game off.

Gonsolin was set to come in behind Price in a piggyback role out of the Dodgers bullpen. The two teams are reportedly going 8 innings in the first game of the Freeway Series exhibition.

More details will come in on this within the hour as Dave Roberts does his daily press conference with Dodgers’ media.

Stay tuned for updates.
