Dodgers: Exciting News For Dustin May This Week

The Dodgers are getting close to getting some reinforcements back to their roster. With the way health has played out so far in the season, it’s incredible that they’ve been able to win games at this pace. But the league is in a lot of trouble once this team starts to get healthier.

One guy to keep an eye on is Dustin May. He went down with Tommy John surgery near the beginning of th 2021 season after suffering a torn UCL. But the Dodgers flamethrower is slowly working his way back to action.

This week, Dave Roberts said that May is very close to going out on a minor league rehab assignment. The Dodgers have had him at Calemback Ranch in Arizona throwing live batting practice sessions, which is also a big step.

But getting him into rehab games will be very exciting for the Dodgers. They need pitching help, and he’s just about the best anyone could ask for at the deadline. He’ll need time, and they’ll slowplay his progression. But he’s coming.

Other Dodgers News

The Dodgers went out and surprised everyone this week by signing Austin Barnes to an extension. Just before game time on Sunday afternoon, it was reported that Barnes would be signing a 2-year extension, though the terms of that deal have yet to be released.
