Dodgers: Gavin Lux Scratched From LA’s Lineup

The Dodgers and Braves are set to play game 2 of their 3 game series tonight in Los Angeles. Walker Buehler will get his third start of the year facing off against Max Fried who will throw for Atlanta. But there were a few changes to the lineup in the hours leading up to the game.

Initially, the Dodgers had Cody Bellinger taking a day off. That shifted Chris Taylor over to center and Gavin Lux was playing out in left field. But less than two hours before the first pitch, they had to switch things up.

The second Dodgers lineup had Taylor in left and Bellinger out in center. That meant that Lux had been scratched from the initial lineup. Juan Toribio later added that Lux was removed from the line due to stiffness in his back.

Lux is off to a tremendous start to the 2022 season. He is hitting .276 and reaching base at a clip over .400, which is huge for the bottom part of the lineup. The Dodgers ‘utility-ish’ man has 3 extra-base hits and 5 runs driven in across his first 10 games with Los Angeles.

No word yet on if Lux will be back in the lineup tomorrow afternoon.
