Dodgers Injury News: Dustin May Gets Back to Throwing Off the Mound
Dustin’s lurking. In a great sight for sore eyes, Dodgers fans will be happy to know that Dustin May just made the next big step in his return to the mound.
He pitched off of one.
On Friday, May posted a video of himself throwing off the mound for the first time since injuring his right elbow on a pitch in Milwaukee last May (the month). He kept the caption simple, “in due time… first bullpen: check.”
Of course, don’t be looking for May on the opening day roster. The hurler still has a way to go in his rehab and build up. Sometime post-All-Star break is the tentative target for Dustin’s return to the team in what will most likely be a relief role.
Over parts of three seasons with the Dodgers, the 24-year-old owns a 6-5 record with a 2.93 ERA. The expectation is that he will help bolster the bullpen as the pennant race heats up in the dog days of summer.
