Dodgers: Joc Pederson Cleared For Baseball Activities

The Dodgers have been without Joc Pederson for some time now with what they are referring to as “side” soreness. Joc was able to stand it and bunt late last month but has yet to fully take part in team workouts. But the good news is that Joc will start getting up to speed today.

With just 20 days until Opening Day, time is running out for Joc to make his return. The Dodgers could get him onto the backfields to get more minor league at-bats if he is healthy enough to start swinging a bat.

The Dodgers could also pivot and put Joc on the injured list to start the season. The team has more than enough options at outfield depth, so much so that rushing him back would only hurt the team. If he is not ready to go by Opening Day, Los Angeles already has Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, and AJ Pollock as the probable starters. Beyond that, Chris Taylor, Kiké Hernández, and 

The offseason has been a little bit uncomfortable for Joc Pederson and the Dodgers. The team tried to trade him to Anaheim earlier this year, but that inevitably fell through. Joc had to return to the team knowing they just tried to trade him. He has said in interviews that it’s behind him and he is just ready to play ball this year.

  1. I don’t care what some think; Joc is a Dodger through and through. And rakes against rghties. He would be missed; though his trade value could warrant a trade. Sure didn’t care much for the Angels’ return. Glad he is still with us for now.
