Dodgers: Joc Pederson Shows No Emotions Playing Against His Former Team

The Dodgers are having a rough time against the Giants this weekend. It just seems like nothing is going their way, including losing Walker Buehler for potentially 2 months due to an injury. It’s been rough in San Francisco.

But they did get to see a familiar face in Joc Pederson, and he made them pay on Friday night. Joc drove in a pair of runs that eventually resulted in a 7-2 win over his former team. The Dodgers scooped him up in the 11th round of the 2010 MLB draft.

He spent 7 seasons of his career with the Dodgers before heading out via free agency. During that time he spent many years as a platoon player, never getting chances against left-handed pitching. Things have changed for him now, but it doesn’t sound like he has harsh feelings about it.

“It’s easy to overanalyze it or over-hype yourself up. Like, ‘I don’t get opportunities so I’ve got to take this one.’ It just makes it harder. It’s hard to put into words. You don’t want to say it’s like you care less. That doesn’t sound good. The best word I have is ‘unemotional.’ Then you’re able to put yourself in the best position to succeed.”

It’s hard to not love Joc. But if he could stop with the big hits against the Dodgers, that would be great.

Other Dodgers News

Dodgers fans have wondered for most of the season why Orel Hershiser has not been part of many broadcasts. But now we know that part of the reason is so he can continue to focus on his own business ventures.

  1. Losing Joc & Kike to free agency really sucked. It feels like we lost a lot of the heart & soul of this team. Those two were big-time clutch for us & always brought the energy.
