Dodgers: Justin Turner Scratched Late From the Lineup

The Dodgers were supposed to get Justin Turner back int he field at third base today. After missing time with a hamstring injury, Turner was limited to DH duties for the last couple of games to keep him off of his legs.

Tuesday was originally supposed to be JT’s first game back at the hot corner. The lineup released by the Dodgers earlier in the day had him slated to start there. Dave Roberts talked about him being in the field as well, saying that JT would probably be pulled after a few at-bats. Edwin Rios was set to take over third base in the later innings.

Them, just around 4:45 Los Angeles time, the Dodgers released a new lineup. That revised lineup had Justin Turner scratched from the lineup without any explanation attached. The team has yet to offer any reason, though hopefully it is just precautionary. We will update as more information comes along.

    1. I hate the DH, and want it to dissappear next year, but it is ideal for Turner for what’s left of the season, on into the postseason. In provides some insurance against injuries or reaggravating existing injuries. It could also help defensively. If JT has any problems more than minor discomfort right now, hold him out until the postseason. He won’t forget how to hit in the meantime.

  1. Hopefully, it’s to be on the safe side. Justin is such a great team spokesman. He’s a positive influence on newer players. Keep him!!!
