Dodgers: Kiké Hernandez and Chris Taylor Activated, Negrón to IL

The Dodgers have activated both infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor and super utility Kiké Hernandez from the 10-day injured list and have placed Kristopher Negrón on the 10-day injured list with neck stiffness. The club also optioned outfielder Kyle Garlick to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The move comes in junction with the demotion of right-handed reliever Casey Sadler to Triple-A Oklahoma City and the recalling of right-hander Dylan Floro.

Taylor, 28, was dealing with a fractured forearm. On the season, he holds a .261 batting average and .786 on-base plus slugging. Prior to going down with the fracture, Taylor was red hot, posting a .333/.412/.552 slash line since June 10.

Hernandez, 27, dealt with a left hand sprain after he took an awkward season. 2019 has been a bit of a disappointment in a follow up on 2018, seeing him hold just a .238 batting average and .742 on-base plus slugging this season while crushing 16 home runs.

Negrón, 33, has been a pleasant surprise for the Dodgers, filling in everywhere he has been asked. He has gone 11-for-41 across 15 games for the club.

Garlick, 27, has seen his fair share of promotions and demotions this season and has continued to fill in as a right-handed outfielder off the bench for manager Dave Roberts. He has batted .250 at the major league level this season, but has been one of the most productive hitters in Triple-A Oklahoma City’s lineup, batting .319 with 20 home runs and 51 runs batted in.
