Dodgers: Los Angeles Rams Owner Calls Dodgers Ownership Group Best in Sports
Ever since the Guggenheim Group purchased the Dodgers from the villainous Frank McCourt, Dodgers chairman Mark Walter and his team have done everything in their power to make LA a perennial contender.
The baseball world has taken notice of Guggenheim’s impact, and so have owners of other professional sports teams.
Walter and Dodgers minority owner Todd Boehly recently spearheaded the purchase of the Chelsea Football Club, an English Premier League team. LA Rams Stan Kroenke, who became the majority owner of Arsenal in 2011, gave Walter and Boehly a ringing endorsement in a recent Sportsmail article.
‘If I’m a Chelsea fan I feel pretty happy about it, I think this is the best ownership group in sports.”
Kroenke didn’t stop there in his praise of the Dodgers ownership group.
“Just all of the things because it’s passionate. As long as you are passionate about things in a good direction, you can’t lose and that’s the way I feel about Todd and Mark.”
Billionaires are inherently confident people, and typically headstrong, so Kroenke complimenting a rival ownership group is certainly noteworthy.
Since Walter and his team purchased the Dodgers in 2012, the team has enjoyed a slew of success. LA won their first of eight-consecutive NL West division titles in the group’s first full season of ownership.
The Dodgers have appeared in four of the last five NLCS, three of the last five World Series, and won it all in 2020.
By all accounts, Chelsea F.C. is in good hands.
