Dodgers: Max Muncy and Wife Kellie Welcome Their Firstborn

The Dodgers are focused on their series against the Rockies and trying to turn things around. With a few consecutive BAD losses, they want to get things moving in the right direction. But they will have to continue to do so without one of their best hitters.

Max Muncy is away from the Dodgers this week to be with his wife Kellie. Kellie just gave birth to their firstborn daughter last night, and little Sophie was welcomed to the Dodger family! Max posted the update on his Instagram account his morning.

Sophie Kate Muncy was born at 7:37 pm on July 23rd. And yes, she is perfect.

Max is expected to be away from the Dodgers for the entire weekend as he spends the time with his family. But the All-Star first baseman is also expected to rejoin the team when they head north to play the Giants starting Tuesday.

That timing obviously works out well since the Dodgers need to win some games against the Giants in that series. Gaining ground in the NL West is very important as the season starts to wind down.

But congrats to Max, Kellie, and little Sophie!
