Dodgers: Max Muncy Hilariously Trolls MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the World Series Champions for the first time in 32 years. Just one day later and it’s still hard to believe that I get to write those words. These guys worked so hard to get here and overcame so much just to get to play baseball this year.

One of those guys that overcame a lot was Max Muncy. The Dodgers first baseman posted on his Instagram following the win, and it came with a savage caption. In the caption, he takes a not-so-subtle jab at MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred, and we love it.

If you’re not familiar with the phrase, Manfred referred to the Commissioner’s Trophy as a “piece of metal” in an interview with ESPN’s Karly Ravech earlier this year. This was when he was being asked about the Astros cheating scandal and why he did not choose to strip the team of their 2017 title. Obviously, the Dodgers are happy to have that piece of metal.

For me, Max being the guy that took the jab at Manfred is hilarious for so many reasons. For starters, he wasn’t a part of the team that was cheated by the 2017 Astros. It just goes to show you that what Houston did hurt baseball, not just one specific team. But Muncy is typically one of the quietest and most humble Dodgers players you will ever meet. He’s obviously got a little hidden spice to him, and boy am I loving it.

Dodgers: MLB to Launch Investigation into Justin Turner’s Postgame Actions

  1. I used to defend Rob Manfred to my friends. That ended when he referred to the WS trophy as a piece of metal. He clearly has no idea how to run baseball. It’s like they took some mid-level manager from Ford and made him the commissioner. No freaking clue.

  2. Rob Manfred you are pathetic and a poor excuse for a baseball commisioner!! You have a HELL OF ALOT OF NERVE to be going after Justin Turner…WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???? Take a good look in the mirror and you will find your answer!!!! Our Dodgers WON the World Series for their hard work and dedication to the sport of baseball..UNLIKE THE ASTROS WHO HAD TO CHEAT TO win the world series and ROBBED Our Dodgers of a World Series Title…Manfred you looked SO OUT OF PLACE last night and YOU DO NOT BELONG at any baseball event!!The boos you heard from the fans last night really tell YOU WHAT WE THINK OF YOU!!! Its time for YOU TO FIND ANOTHER JOB!!!!!!!

  3. The world series trophy is certainly not just a piece of metal. But Manfred is certainly a piece of sh@#$&+/.

  4. Hey I am the worlds biggest Dodger Fan…growing up the only time me and my stepfather were civil to each other(1960s) was watching or listening on the radio to the Dodgers! That being said…Justin should be rebuked for knowlingly coming back to the field and taking his mask off…watch there will be cases!

  5. It is science that tells us that the age and physical conditions of both WS teams have an incredibly low chance of needing hospitalization regarding COVID. The only one at a little higher risk is Dave Roberts, who chose to sit next to JT for the team picture. Of course, they could have left a space next to Roberts and then photoshopped JT into the picture, but what he did is OK with me. I really think there is something “fishy” about the timing regarding taking JT out of the game at the time of night that they did. It’s difficult to believe that the lab was open at that time of night to process COVID tests.

  6. The most appropriate words to describe Rob ManLESS will not be printed here, but they are obvious whenever the liar speaks. Glad to hear the boos he received after our SECOND title in four years.

  7. “ For starters, he wasn’t a part of the team that was cheated by the 2017 Astros.”….You really didn’t write that, did you? Max Muncy signed a contract before the 2017 season with the Dodgers. You sound like a bigger moron than Rob Manfredi

  8. I think it was only right that Justin went and celebrated with the team and I believe they all wanted him to be there to share the victory. The team had all been together all day anyway. I don’t blame him after all Justin and the team had been through this year and prior years to win the World Series. This was a once in a lifetime kind of moment that should never be taken away from anyone!

  9. William Jones, unlikely for several reasons. 1st either masks work or they dont and he was wearing a mask most of the time. 2nd he played the entire game already exposing people so I guess there could be more cases but not from JTs excursion after the game. 3rd it was OUTSIDE which means a 1% or less transmission rate. 4th JT is young and healthy and so is everyone around him. Even if they did get it it would be a one in a million (literally) that one of them died. They are much more likely to die or get injured going home in a car than JT walking up to them and breathing in their face.
