Dodgers: Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger Named Finalists for Gold Glove Award

The defense in the Dodgers outfield is among the best in baseball.

The Dodgers have been putting on a defensive clinic in the outfield during the playoffs. They’ve been playing great defense all around, but their outfield has been next level. Cody Bellinger and Mookie Betts are two of the reasons for that highlight reel defense that we’re getting every game.

Fittingly, Betts and Bellinger were named as finalists for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award for center field and right field. Mookie ranked third in all of baseball with 11 defensive runs saved in 2020 while Bellinger finished the year with 5. Betts led all NL outfielders while Belli came in at 5th

For the Dodgers, it’s a pretty cool thing to have their 2 former MVP winners qualify for the Gold Glove. Fans have had to watch from home this yer, but these two guys have really put on a show all year long in 2020. Betts already has 4 Gold Glove Awards while Bellinger took home his first award last season.

  1. There are just a handful of players who have won a Gold Glove at 2 different positions. Would be great to see Cody added to that list. And with Mookie just filling up the highlight reels for his defense this post season; I think we are in great hands for years to come. Awesome defense!

  2. Great! Now if they can get more bats going we should have a sinch on this WS. Everybody was trying for the home run again. Didn’t work did it? Gotta stay with the game plan, hits and hit to get them around.
