Dodgers: Mookie Betts Debut Will Come Sunday Against the Cubs

The Dodgers newest acquisition will play his first game Sunday against the Cubs.

The Dodgers don’t look like they will be playing any games on Saturday, but Sunday is shaping up to be a great day. Dave Roberts announced to media this afternoon that Mookie Betts will get his first action in a Dodgers uniform on Sunday.

Rain pushed back all of the games Saturday, but this little bit of news feels like a ray of sunshine. Dodgers fans have been flocking to Camelback Ranch early on this Spring to get a glimpse of the newest Dodger outfielder.

Mookie was acquired along with David Price in a blockbuster trade a few weeks back. He will get the start in right, and likely will get just one at-bat before hitting the showers for the day. Spring Training generally has a slow start for players who are locks for the Opening Day lineup.

Cody Bellinger, Chris Taylor, and Max Muncy were all supposed to play in Saturday’s game against the Giants. While it has officially been pushed back to 3:15 today, the weather suggests the games will be canceled entirely.

Regardless, the weather is looking like it will be sunny and ready for baseball on Sunday afternoon at Camelback Ranch. Get there early to see the Dodgers newest star in action!

  1. Best Dodgers lineup ever. Great balance, great power and finally some speed at the top of the order!

Starters may be the best I have seen since Koufax and Drysdale says.

Relievers the only question mark. If Jansen doesn’t recover, then maybe Graterol or Urias or someone else may be slotted into the closer spot?

  2. While Betts may *look* good in a Dodger uniform (who wouldn’t?) They’re the BEST EVER Baseball Team. BUT in watching Sunday’s Spring Training game against the White Sox, I heard Alana say that Mookie had addressed the entire team and told them how *he* wanted them to play and that he had also
“instituted fines” for if , in his opnion, the players were NOT “adequately prepared”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a Dodger fan since I was old enough to turn the knob on the radio and have *NEVER* heard of any player taking a team to which he had just been traded to task in that manner. WHO does HE think he IS!!?? I can tell you one thing he is NOT………..He is NOT proper Dodger “material”.

If Dave Roberts wants to institute fines, if Tommy Lasorda ever had, that would be totally in their purview. BETTS, however, should shut his mouth and play baseball. The rest of the team is.
I will *ALWAYS* love the Dodgers, but won’t pay a penny to watch Mookie Betts act like he is GOD.

    • The Dodgers are a bunch of bums who have never gotten it done in October in their lives but Betts has actually been on a team that has

  3. They are NOT bums ….but you are, of course, entitled to your opinion………and BETTS is fortunate to be on their team. He has also, yes, been on a WS team, but hey, we won’t even go into just HOW that was won.
