Dodgers: Mookie Betts Wins His 4th Silver Slugger Award

Mookie Betts is going to have to build a whole lot of new shelving in his house the longer he plays with the Dodgers. Just a few days after winning his first National League Gold Glove Award, Betts is taking home some more hardware.

It was announced on Thursday afternoon that Mookie had won another Silver Slugger Award. It is the fourth Silver Slugger award in Betts’ career, his first since coming over to the Dodgers in the trade with the Red Sox.

With his Gold Glove and Silver Slugger, Betts becomes the 6th Dodgers player to win both awards in a single season. He joins Cody Bellinger, Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Kemp, Russell Martin, and Dusty Baker. Betts is 1 of the 3 finalists up for the Nationaal League’s Most Valuable Player award along with Freddie Freeman and Manny Machado.
