Dodgers Nation Eats: A New Take on Traditional Ballpark Food
One of our quests here at Dodgers Nation in 2019 is finding some of the best eateries around Los Angeles and Dodger Stadium and passing along the best noms to our fan base. Naturally, we started our new series off right… while we were in Arizona for spring training!
Next up in our series: Short Leash Hotdogs and Rollover Doughnuts!
And this would be breakfast today ….. some pretty amazing food out here at #DodgersST https://t.co/oW9CFtgjjD …. 20 min east of @camelbackranch

At Short Leash in Phoenix, AZ we were met with wild new takes on a baseball park staple: the hot dog! When we say wild, we mean wild… with combinations including:
- “The Bear” ( peanut butter, smoked gouda, bacon, bbq sauce + cracker jacks)
- “The Millie” ( bacon, sautéed onions, blue cheese, dragon sauce)
- “Igby” (coleslaw, blue cheese + bbq sauce)
And many more! But they don’t limit themselves to just hot dogs… they make some truly amazing doughnuts too. We tried the Spicy Thai Coconut, Maple Glazed + Candied Bacon, and the Adult Boozy Filled doughnuts. We’re still thinking about them to this day.
Our time at Short Leash
Moreover, they proudly serve more than 80 (!) craft beers, and some fun side and starter options — the cauliflower wings were a hit at our table. On top of everything above, they also have a catering truck to help cover any event needs.
Bring your dog, bring your imagination, and go visit Short Leash next time you’re in Phoenix!
Great post Clint!
