Dodgers Nation Visits Yasiel Puig’s Second Celebrity Poker Tournament

Yasiel Puig has become one of the most recognizable Los Angeles figures in recent history. And lucky for all of us, he has used that fame to better the community around us. Puig is well known for the Wild Horse Foundation that focuses on local planning and development for underserved communities of Los Angeles. The foundation serves youth sports, schools and overall care of our community’s children.

One way that he is able to accomplish this is through generous donations. And what better way to draw big-name celebrities than by hosting a celebrity Poker Tournament? This year was the second consecutive year that Puig and his agency have been able to put on this event, and it was at the Stadium Club in Dodger Stadium. Dodgers Nation was one of the lucky media groups given the privilege to cover the event.

The Stars Came Out to Shine

It seemed like all sort of celebrities were eager to make the trip out in support of Puig’s foundation. Even the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy”, Tito Ortiz. He made an appearance alongside former UFC Champ Chuck Liddel. The two are long-time rivals and are rumored to be fighting again soon.

Tito was fairly convinced that he could take Liddell in a one-on-one matchup. In fact, Tito was confident he could beat Chuck in just about anything. A little bit of heat at the tournament.

The event featured big-name entertainment like Cedric The Entertainer, World Series of Poker champ Jamie Gold, Emilio Rivera and many more. There were also plenty of current and former athletes on hand as well, with the NHL, NBA, and UFC being well represented.

Lakers Kyle Kuzma and Metta World Peace made brief appearances at the event, and Kuzma showed a great rapport with Puig.  Tyler Toffoli of the Los Angeles Kings made an appearance on the red carpet and was spotted several times throughout the remainder event. And of course, there were plenty of current and past Dodgers players on hand to support Yasiel’s efforts.
