Dodgers News: Alex Wood Continues His Push For Rotation Spot

It was reported last week that Alex Wood was leading the push for one of the two available spots in the starting rotation.

Friday night, he put in another stellar performance, strengthening his case for a spot in the rotation.

He started by striking out four of the first six batters he faced over the first two innings.

In the 3rd inning he added another strikeout, bringing his total up to five.

Alex Wood ended his night after pitching a quality 4 2/3 innings, allowing just two hits and an earned run to go along with his five strikeouts. He did not allow any walks.

He is currently pitching to the tune of a 3.18 ERA over 11 1/3 innings this spring.

If he continues to perform at this level over the next few weeks, there should be little doubt that he will start the year as a part of the Dodgers rotation.
