Los Angeles Dodgers fans have grown accustomed to blockbuster trades and major free agent acquisitions these past two winters. After losing in six games to the St.Louis Cardinals in the NLCS, many expected the Dodgers to dominate the free agent market and be involved in significant trades.
With four capable and expensive outfielders on the roster, many expect the Dodgers to trade one of them to improve another position that might be in need. Along with Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier has been rumored to be on the trading block and the most likely candidate to start the season with another ball club.
Ethier isn’t paying much attention to all the rumors, but he might be the best trade asset the Dodgers have out of the four outfielders they currently have on the roster. He has four years and $69 million left on his contract, but Kemp and has generated the most interest even with more money and years left on his deal.
Although they have four capable outfielders, the Dodgers rarely had all four healthy and ready to go. It would be wise for the Dodgers to keep all four, given their history with injuries even though rumors surrounding Ethier will continue.
