Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez had to deal with another issue on Friday when he was removed from the game against the Colorado Rockies. In another possible injury plagued season, Ramirez had to be taken out after getting hit by a pitch on his left hand for the second time this season.
Ramirez did finish the top half of the inning, was questioned as he approached the dugout after scoring and was replaced by Erisbel Arruebarrena in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Ramirez has definitely been bit by the injury bug this season as he’s tried to regain his form. After hitting a double in the first inning, which was his first extra-base hit since June 23, Ramirez finished the night by scoring twice and reaching base twice in three at-bats.
After Friday’s dominating victory, the Dodgers now have a 1.5 game lead on the San Francisco Giants in the NL West standings. As the All-Star break approaches, the Dodgers and Ramirez are hoping for a clean bill of health for Ramirez.
