On Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers received solid contributions from the three relievers. J.P. Howell threw 1.1 innings, Brian Wilson retired the two batters he faced in the eighth and Kenley Jansen earned the save to seal the victory and series win against the San Diego Padres.
Howell did not allow a runner to reach base and tallied his 17th hold of the season. Following the win, the left-hander commented on the growth of the bullpen and stated the group of relievers are slowly starting to become one unit.
The Dodgers made multiple acquisitions in the off-season to bolster their bullpen. In order to get ready for postseason play, the bullpen must glue together and become the dependable unit that helped the Dodgers make their run last season.
