The month of September has brought about a turn of events as most Major League division and wild card races are headed down the wire. The arrival of September also means that rosters can expand, which leads to various Minor League players being called up for the remainder of the season.
The Los Angeles Dodgers decided on Monday that they would call up four players immediately, with three more expected to join the team in a few days. Top prospects Joc Pederson and Alex Guerrero were the headliners joining the roster after both had phenomenal Minor League seasons.
Catcher Tim Federowicz also rejoined the team. The 27 year old will look to provide the catchers with some well-deserved days off as they rest up for the postseason. Relief pitcher Yimi Garcia also joined the Dodgers and threw two innings of scoreless relief in Monday’s loss.
Pederson, Guerrero, and Garcia fill out the group of players who made their Major League debuts, but familiar faces are also set to return. Carlos Frias, Miguel Rojas and Erisbel Arruebarrena are expected to join the Dodgers Tuesday.
