Vin Scully gave fans a gift when he announced his intentions to return for a 66th season of broadcasting. While Scully is returning next season to call more Los Angeles Dodgers baseball, it’s also coming with a bit of a caveat.

The Hall-of-Fame broadcaster will be cutting his amount of broadcasts by as much as 25 percent.
This season, Scully stuck with a limited traveling plan that included cities such as Anaheim, San Diego, San Francisco and Arizona. He did however, make an exception for the Opening Series in Australia.

For next season, Scully said he will see how well the team is doing before deciding to travel. He expects the Dodgers to be in a pennant race and implied he may be more inclined to travel with the team down the stretch of the season. He also praised the Dodgers’ management for allowing him to have a flexible work schedule.
