Dodgers News: Brandon McCarthy Has Tendinitis, Won’t Miss Start

Brandon McCarthy was removed in the sixth inning of Saturday’s win over the Cubs. An MRI revealed he has patella tendinitis in his right knee.

The tendinitis isn’t expected to impact him much, however. Dave Roberts said McCarthy will make his next start.



While it doesn’t seem concerning now, there could be lingering effects. McCarthy is no stranger to the injury bug.

McCarthy has been a pleasant surprise for the Dodgers. McCarthy had become somewhat of an afterthought, but is a strong candidate for comeback player of the year. He’s 5-1 with a 3.28 ERA in 46.2 innings.
