Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Still A Ways Off From Returning

The Dodgers are going to be getting some help, even before the trade deadline. While many expect them to be active on the market this summer, the fact that they have guys returning from the injured list might prevent that. And there are a lot of guys on the way that could make a big difference.

One of them being Chris Taylor. The Dodgers infielder/outfielder suffered a break in his foot after fouling a ball off of it. They initially had it has a bruise on his foot and tried to play him through it. That lasted just one game and he had to be replaced during that contest.

But Taylor might still be a ways off. Prior to the game in St Louis on Tuesday evening, Dave Roberts spoke about CT and where he was at. The Dodgers have allowed him to take dry swings but he’s still a few weeks away from actual baseball activities.

“If he puts too much pressure on it, it could get worse. So there’s a point to where you got to let it heal, to then start to be a little more active.”

Taylor is a big part of this team regardless of how he is performing in the box. His defensive versatility combined with a knack for coming through in big spots has made him a favorite within the clubhouse. The Dodgers do need him, and not having him available hurts.

  1. Taylor strikes out at an alarming rate and therefore shouldn’t be playing every day. (what going on with our hitting coaches?!) I’m not anxious for his return.

    1. Taylor has been disappointing this year. Definitely not an everyday player. Needs to quit swinging for the fence and concentrate on making more contact.
