Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Interview With MLB Network Radio on Clayton Kershaw’s Return

We have waited for what seems like forever. We have fought and persevered to get to to first place when everyone doubted us. Well, the days of being called an underdog are long gone… Clayton Kershaw is back!

Clayton Kershaw will be making his return to the majors on Friday in Miami against the Marlins. Many are wondering what his first outing back is going to look like. Will there be a pitch count? Will there be an inning limit? Casey Stern got to chat with Manager Dave Roberts about all of this and more!

As you can see, the Dodgers seem to be playing it “by ear.” It seems as though they are going to be watching him closely and don’t want to put a limit on him. This is definitely the right call because, like Roberts said, “…his health for this game supersedes the importance of winning that game.” If we want Kershaw to make an impact in the postseason, then we need to make sure that his health is the number one priority.

In his rehab assignment with the RC Quakes, Kershaw pitched 3 innings giving up only 1 hit and striking out 5. Clearly his abilities are there, the only thing now is how long it will last and that is 100% determined by his health and how he is feeling after each inning.

Welcome back, MVP!
