Dodgers News: Franklin Gutierrez to DL; Trayce Thompson Recalled

Some fans were angry when Trayce Thompson didn’t make the Opening Day roster. Less than two weeks later, he’s back.

Franklin Gutierrez is placed on the 10-day disabled list with a hamstring injury. Thompson is recalled to fill his spot.



Gutierrez was hitting .231 in 13 at-bats. To this point, he’s been used as a platoon partner with Andrew Toles.

Dave Roberts said he saw benefit in Trayce Thompson going to the minors, citing consistent playing time. Thompson appeared in 80 games last season for Los Angeles, slashing .225/.302/.436 in 236 at-bats. He season ended early due to multiple back fractures.
