Dodgers News: Gavin Lux and Dustin May to Participate in MLB Futures Game

A pair of top Dodgers Prospects are on the roster for MLB’s Futures Game tonight in Progressive Field in Cleveland. The Futures Game is, of course, Minor League Baseball’s top All-Star game.

Top pitching prospect Dustin May, and top infield prospect Gavin Lux were added to the National League roster.

May is the Dodgers’ number 3 prospect, and number 51 in MLB. In 16 starts this season, the 6-6 red-headed right-hander has a 4-5 record and 3.74 ERA in 84.1 innings pitched between double-A Tulsa and triple-A Oklahoma City. He has struck out 89 and walked 22.

Lux is ranked number 2 for Los Angeles, and 31st in all of baseball. He has a .332/.392/.554 slash line with 14 home runs and 41 RBI in 71 games between Tulsa and OKC.

Both players recently made the jump to triple-A and are performing well, with Lux batting .500 in 7 games, and May allowing 2 runs in 5 innings in his lone start.

The game will be live on MLB Network at 4pm PST.

  1. Some here may disagree with me but for no reliever at all should Lux and May be even considered as part of a deadline deal, especially for a 2 month rental. As much as we need BP help for the PS and possible WS , those relievers will not guarantee a WS ring if the Dodger offense does what it did in last year’s WS and the pitching staff continues it’s HR friendly ways.
