Another day, another roster move for the defending world champion Los Angeles Dodgers. About an hour before first pitch on Wednesday, the club announced that right-hander Jimmy Nelson is heading to the injured list with elbow inflammation. In a corresponding move, lefty Darien Nunez rejoins the active roster after about a week with Triple-A OKC.

In the case of Nelson and the Dodgers, it’s another devastating blow to the bullpen core. The reliever has posted a 1.86 ERA over 28 games, when healthy. This is his third stint on the IL this season.
Nunez has struggled in the early goings of his big league career. The 28-year-old has allowed 5 earned runs in 7.1 innings over 5 games. On the season in the minor leagues, Darien has a 2.55 ERA in 35.1 IP across two levels.
The Dodgers announced who will start against the Angels this weekend at Dodger Stadium. David Price gets the ball on Friday, Julio Urias starts Saturday, and Walker Buehler pitches the matinee on Sunday. Dave Roberts had hoped for the return of Clayton Kershaw for this series but told reporters today that the veteran left-hander was essentially shut down for the time being.
