The Dodgers are coming off of a few tough losses, but that’s not the only thing happening with the team this week. After the A’s and Astros cleared benches, fans went nuts after Ramon Laureano’s 6-game suspension. With Joe Kelly facing an 8-game ban, fans in Los Angeles need answers.
Speaking of Joe Kelly, his appeal is STILL pending. After being pushed back to Monday, the results have yet to come out from MLB. Kelly is likely looking at sitting out a few games regardless, but the number of games is what is in question.
In some more encouraging news, fans and coaches have loved what they’ve seen from Dustin May in the starting rotation. Dave Roberts reacted to the pitch that he threw to Manny Machado that made it’s way all the way around the internet this week.
Speaking of the Padres, there was a play at the plate against San Diego last week that got Dodgers fans hyped up. Fernando Tatis Jr ran down Barnes at the plate, but Barnes said that he did not take any issue with the play.
The Dodgers also made a few roster moves this past week. One of those moves was placing Joe Kelly on the injured list with an inflamed right shoulder. In a corresponding move, left-handed reliever Adam Kolarek was recalled.
The Dodgers will play two more games against the Padres before heading down to Anaheim on Friday. That is when they kick off a three-game series against the always problematic Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Anthony Rendon have been tearing it up as of late.
