Dodgers News: Kenley Jansen Joins Team Netherlands in WBC

Kenley Jansen couldn’t pass on representing his country in his home ballpark.

For the championship round at Dodger Stadium, the Netherlands bullpen just got a huge boost.

Jansen, the Dodgers all-time saves leader, re-signed with the franchise this winter after turning down a more lucrative offer from Washington. Last season, he posted career-bests in saves, ERA and WHIP. He’s best known for a deadly cutter, which leads to Mariano Rivera comparisons.

Adding Jansen is a coup for the Netherlands. The Dutch advanced to the semi-finals with a 14-1 win over Cuba, paired with Japan’s 8-3 victory over Israel.
