Dodgers News: Kenley Jansen Welcomes Baby Number 4, Placed on the Paternity List
The Dodgers will go for a big sweep over the Padres this afternoon. Chasing the Giants by 2.5 games in the NL West, Los Angeles will look to Max Scherzer to make it 6 consecutive wins against San Diego.
They will have to do it without their closer though. The Dodgers were already going to be without Kenley Jansen after pitching 3 straight days, but now he has been placed on the Paternity List. Kenley and his wife welcomed their new daughter into the world earlier today.
Our baby girl is finally here! ?@GianniKJansen and I are blessed to announce the arrival of Key’Gia Keziah Jansen into the world today at 10:06am. She’s 7 pounds/14 ounces, 19.5 inches, and beyond beautiful. Mom and baby are doing great! ?

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers added Mitch White back to the active roster. White will be available out of the bullpen over the next few days while Kenley is away. White has served as a spot starter over the last few weeks with injuries to the starting rotation.

Doc said that the Dodgers do expect to have Kenley back with them by Tuesday. Jansen has pitched incredibly over the last few weeks, including locking down 10 saves since the start of August.
Jansen has not allowed an earned run against him since August 17th and has been a big part of the Dodgers’ recent success.
