Dodgers News: LA Establishes Franchise Runs Scored Record

The Dodgers are closing in on a 100 wins in 2019, and setting new records along the way. With Friday night’s victory over the Rockies by a score of 12-5, the club brought its season run total to 844, breaking a Los Angeles record that had been set in 1962.

Moreover, 133 of the 844 runs have come against the divisional rival Colorado Rockies. 432 of the runs came at home, and 412 came on the road. With 8 games to play before heading into the postseason, Los Angeles will have time to add to an already record total.

Additionally, the Dodgers pace the National League in run differential with +248, good for second in MLB behind Houston (+261). That tally of +248 is good for fourth place in all-time franchise history, and tops since moving to Los Angeles.

Dodgers All-Time Franchise History – Run Differential

  • 1889 Brooklyn Bridegrooms +289
  • 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers +266
  • 1890 Brooklyn Bridegrooms +264
  • 2019 Los Angeles Dodgers +248
  • 1974 Los Angeles Dodgers +237

Cody Bellinger leads the pack with 116 runs, Muncy is the runner-up with 95, and Turner follows with 80. On the road, the run leaders remain the same, but at home, Joc Pederson is 3rd on the team in runs, as Bellinger and Muncy remain atop the board.

The Dodgers have averaged 5.5 runs per game, and if they stay at that pace, they could approach 900 runs scored on the season. 888 runs to be exact. The offense will look to stay hot tonight as Walker Buehler is on the mound, and the Dodgers look to reach the 100-win mark.
