The Dodgers got to take the week off from games with the All-Star break, but a few guys headed up to Denver to participate. Those who did participate had to deal with questions surrounding Trevor Bauer and his assault investigation.
With that, let’s dive into some of the news from around the league this week!
The latest update on Bauer is that his administrative leave has been extended to July 27th. That date is important since Bauer has a hearing scheduled for July 24th to determine the next steps for the restraining order filed against him.
Speaking of Bauer, his Dodgers teammates had to deal with the questions surrounding him and his investigation at the All-Star Game this week. They all sounded like they were ready to move on and were just focused on winning ballgames.
As we approach the MLB trade deadline, there are several arms the Dodgers will be interested in. But in our minds, these 3 prospects need to be labeled as untouchable in conversations with other teams.
Speaking of arms they might look to acquire, several experts predicted that Los Angeles would go after RHP Jon Gray. That might be sort of difficult given that he plays in the National League West and the Rockies don’t do business with LA.
Joc Pederson might have signed a free-agent deal with the Cubs this offseason, but that doesn’t mean fans in LA don’t check on him. Joc was dealt to the Braves over the weekend and celebrated hat by hitting a homerun in his third at-bat.
And finally, the Houston Astros once again got called out. This time it was by actor Zach Levi, and he blasted the Stros at the ESPY’s.
