Dodgers News: Los Angeles No Longer the World Series Favorites

The Dodgers entered the season as the favorite to win the World Series. And why wouldn’t they be? Los Angeles is consistently one of the best teams in baseball, and they dealt with losing Corey Seager to free agency by signing Freddie Freeman to a long-term deal.

And despite the way things have gone for them, the Dodgers have remained the World Series favorites. That is, until this month. Entering the month of July, the red-hot Yankees are now the championship favorites at +400, according to ESPN and Caesars Sportsbook.

The Dodgers are a close second at +450 odds for a title this year. And it’s also the first time in almost 2 years that Los Angeles has not been the World Series favorites at any point during the regular season, so that’s worth noting.

But the Yankees probably deserve to have that honor over the Dodgers right now. They went on a ridiculous 22-6 run in June, the best in baseball. They also own the best record in MLB at 56-21, with 9 wins more than Los Angeles already.

To put it simply, the Yankees are playing out of their minds right now. The Dodgers will have to make up a lot of ground if they want to get their hands back on that World Series favorite title for the regular season.
