Dodgers News: Max Muncy Boasting Mind-Boggling August Numbers

The Dodgers are HOT. The boys in blue have won 12 in a row and will look to sweep their series today against the Kansas City Royals. If they pull out yet another “W”, they’ll have swept four-consecutive series in a row and keep their perfect August record intact.

Even though everyone on the roster is scorching hot, one player in particular is starting to look like his old self. Max Muncy is on a tear in August, before today’s game Muncy was batting .357/.419/.893 with 4 HR’s and 8 RBI’s. After going 4-for-5 on Saturday, and falling a triple short of the cycle, Max now owns an absurd 1.472 OPS this month.

Muncy spoke to Dodgers reporter Kirsten Watson after the game and said his swing is starting to feel more natural.

.

Many fans called for Muncy to get benched, fans suggested to DFA him, and he has silenced those fans in the meantime (including myself).

After an MVP type year last season, the 31-year-old suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his left elbow. That injury came in the last game of the season against the Milwaukee Brewers which caused him to miss the entire 2021 postseason.

Back in November, Muncy admitted that he was behind schedule in his recovery and that it was going to be a slow process.

All that seems like a decade ago with the way that Funky Muncy is looking.

If the two-time all-star keeps it up, the Dodgers will be even more of a nightmare to face come October.
