The Dodgers will look to rebound in a big way against the Rockies this week after losing 3 of 4 to the Giants. Losing 2 consecutive games when leading after 8 innings can really take a toll on a team. But with Colorado in town, it’s a good chance to right the ship.
Unfortunately, the Dodgers will have to get the job done without Max Muncy. The slugging first baseman will head to Phoenix to be with his wife as the couple welcomes their first child into the world. Luckily the team has been planning ahead on this for a few weeks.
Luke Raley is with the team in Los Angeles right now, and it would make sense the Dodgers would activate him while Muncy is out. But Max will only be out through Sunday as Dave Roberts confirmed he will be back with them on Tuesday in San Francisco.
While we’re happy for the Muncy family and can’t wait for them to welcome their first child, losing him does hurt. Muncy is absolutely crushing the ball this year and has been one of the most valuable bats in the league. But the Dodgers know family comes first and can’t wait to see the happy family.
The Dodgers will be playing the 4th place Rockies who carry a record of 42-54 this year. Los Angeles has won 8 of 10 games against Colorado this year.
