Dodgers News: Michael Busch Named to the Prospect Team of the Week

There is a lot to be excited about if you are a Dodgers fan. Not only is the team very good right now, but they’ve set things up to be very good for the long haul. Loading the farm system with a ton of talent helps that cause.

One guy that Dodgers fans should look forward to seeing is Michael Busch. The organization’s number 3 prospect is getting a lot of attention lately and was named to the Prospect team of the Week after a few really good games.

This past week, Busch slashed .542/.581/1.167 with 3 homeruns and 14 runs driven in for the Tulsa Drillers. The young second baseman has really found his swing as of late and should be in the big leagues as soon as next year.

All told, Busch has tallied 19 homeruns and a 133 wRC+ in 100 games for the Drillers. Busch also suffered a hand injury in July after being hit by a pitch which slowed him down. Despite that, he’s still managed to put up some insane numbers.

Busch represents a class of prospects that are just on the horizon for the Dodgers. At 23-year-old, he is very close to being ready.

  1. Maybe he could come up for a week or two while Pollack is out. He could go to 2B, and T Turner could go to left field. How could he hit worse than Bellinger?

    • I’m betting better than Bellinger. They also have McKinstry or Lux who could do that. And Beaty can play left. It’s not like there are not a few solutions, but Bellinger refuses to “fix” his approach at the plate and Roberts refuses to sit him. So we are stuck with him.

      • Since the Dodgers are stuck with automatic-out bellinger, we have automatic-out barnes and the pitcher too. Is it just me or does bellinger look like a “deer in-the-headlights” look about him, if you know what I mean?

  2. Dodgers have to have Bellinger improve or dump him . Hitting .160 is like having 2 pitchers in the lineup. I like Bellinger but I like my neighbor and he can’t hit either .

  3. When you face a guy like Wainwright you need your best lineup playing . Justin Turner on the bench was a poor decision . Albert playing first was not good either with great respect to him. Roberts will find a way to take the best lineup in the league and blow the pennant .
